Area ski teams win downhill titles

Kettle Morraine

Two local Alpine ski teams won titles on Wednesday night at Alpine Valley in Elkhorn.

The Kettle Moraine boys team won the title in that division with a time of 229.72 seconds. University Lake School was second (234.76) and Waukesha took third (245.57). Catholic Memorial was fourth at 250.85.

Sam Spencer of KM won the individual crown with a time of 53.71. Teammate Gavin Kudick was second at 55.7.

Joe Gehl led ULS was second at 56.49 and Jacob McFadden of Waukesha was fifth at 58.07. Sawyer Wozniak of Catholic Memorial was third at 56.42.

ULS/Trinity/LCL/BA won the girls title with a time of 244.89. In a rare situation, Kettle Moraine and Memorial tied for second at 262.35.

Memorial’s Alyssa Cunningham won the individual title at 57.08.

Anna Deubel of ULS was second at 57.26 and teammate Suzanne Ackley was fourth at 58.,33.

KM was led by Ella Wichert who took third at 57.29 and Elyse Robertson was fifth at 61.62 for the Lasers.
