AHS ski teams win Mt. Lacrosse Cup titles

Arrowhead’s two Alpine ski teams remained undefeated on Monday in the prestigious Mt. Lacrosse Cup. This event is a pre-curser for the upcoming State Championships.

The AHS girls team won the title with 139 points. Mukwonago took second at 153 and DSHA was third at 164. Competition took part in the super giant slalom, giant slalom an slalom.

Arrowhead was led by senior Natalie Sorenson as she placed third overall. She was third in the giant slalom for her best finish.

Sorenson was followed by Emily von Heimburg in eighth, Maggie Siepmann 14th and Addie Siepmann 18th.

Several jayvee skiers also took part for the Warhawks and also did well. Alexandra Webb was 22nd and Lily Gallagher was 24th.

The overall champion was Hartland resident and Brookfield Academy/ULS/Trinity racer Anna Deubel.

The boys team won the crown with 100 points. They were followed by Kettle Moraine with 135 and the AHS varsity reserve team took third at 150.

Junior Caden Bence led the Warhawks as he was third overall with 14 points. He was followed by teammates JP Friend in fourth, Nick von Heimburg fifth, Will Lauterbach sixth, Jace Hipp seventh and TJ Guetzke ninth.

Members of the AHS reserve team were Bence, Lauterbach, Guetzke, Matthew Raab and John Talbot. Other finishers for the varsity team were Eli Orendorf in 20th, Max Schieble 24th and Trace Morrissey 25th.

Kettle Moraine’s Sam Spencer was the individual winner.

Arrowhead will finish the conference season Thursday at Sunburst.
