Arrowhead’s No. 3 ranked boys hockey team rallied back Tuesday night from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat the rival visiting Waukesha Wings in a Classic 8 Conference game, 6-2.
The win clinched a share of the league title for the Warhawks. They will finish the conference season Monday when they host Marquette at 7 p.m. A tie or win would give them the outright championship.
AHS has won 10 of the 19 championships in the history of the Classic 8.
Arrowhead improved to 21-0-2 on the season and 6-0 in league play. Waukesha fell to 9-11-3.
Waukesha scored in the game’s first two minutes to take a 1-0 lead. The score was tied at 2-2 after the first period.
AHS then put the game away with four goals in the second period. Scoring those goals were Nick Catalano, Will Bonk, Trenton Skaggs and Carson Heitman. Assisting on those scores were Hunter Mullett, Catalano, Tanner Schutt and Bonk.
Catalano had two goals in the first period and finished the night with three goals and two assists. Catalano is the seventh leading scorer in the state.
Goalie Mark Moreno saved 21 of 23 shots. He ranks second in the state in save percentage at 94.4%.
Brady Hunn and Josh Little scored goals for the Wings.
